Flights, Walks and an appeal for agape
While Chrysalis training and team formation resumes this weekend in preparation for Flights in July, our focus now also turns to the Emmaus Walks in September …

We are appealing to all Accountability Groups and other creative and caring individuals to support us in preparing and providing Agape for the Chrysalis Flights at Cape Recife High School. Please call Leone Maasdorp on 072 150 3450 or email agape@pe-emmaus.co.za.  We are thrilled to have 22 girl and 21 boy caterpillars and full support teams for these Flights on 7 - 9 July and 15 - 16 July respectively.

The Emmaus Walks for 2017 are taking place from 7 to 10 September (Men) and 14 to 17 September (Women) at Sumcay with Larry Pow Chong and Pat Rheeder as Lay Directors respectively. To work on team (12 community members have already signed up) or sponsor someone, go to the PE Emmaus website http://www.pe-emmaus.co.za soonest where you will find the relevant forms and training dates. The cost is R900.

Emmaus Exam
We’re calling on you to consider writing an exam! If you’d like to become more involved in the PE Emmaus Community by serving on the Board, or on a sub-committee of the Board, then it is in your best interests to write the Board exam. By studying the Upper Room guides to either Emmaus and/or Chrysalis, you will have a better understanding and appreciation of why and how these tools work to God’s glory. We need at least 15 people to commit to writing the open-book exam in order for the facilitators to fly to Port Elizabeth to oversee the process. If you are interested in expanding your Emmaus knowledge, please contact me, Debbie, on cld@pe-emmaus.co.za

Do you have the equivalent of half a garage in space available for the Community’s use? Just 10m2 will do. We are looking for a secure space to house the community’s paraphernalia, including music equipment and a laptop, between flights and walks. We do not have the funding to hire storage space and hence our appeal.

With ever-increasing costs, the PE Emmaus Community hosts events as a means of raising funds and keeping the Emmaus fellowship flame burning.

Music Trivia
A successful music trivia evening was held at Walmer Methodist Church on 10 June, raising close to R8000. The next music trivia event will be held in Kenton-on-Sea.

Praise and Worship
Please diarise 5 August as an opportunity to dust off your own musical instruments and rusty singing voices to gather at St John’s Methodist Church in Central, and praise and worship the Lord from 10am.
