PE Emmaus Newsflash

Agape, sweets and prayers for Walks

Please hold Walks 69 and 70 at Sumcay in prayer. With 25 men this weekend and 36 women pilgrims next weekend, we have been blessed, and we know that these pilgrims will be blessed beyond measure too.
Please consider sponsoring these walks with agape and/or sweets, chips and biscuits. Please respond with news of any such blessings  to Larry Pow Chong ( larry.powchong@gmail.com / 0836506180 ) or Pat Rheeder ( patrheeder@telkomsa.net / 0826851727 ).

Sponsors please drop your pilgrims off by 5.30pm on Thursday, 7 September, this week for the men, and by the same time next week for the women on Thursday, 14 September.

Please be reminded to let Charmaine know on registrar@pe-emmaus.co.za if you are eating supper at send-off, and to bring R65 for this. While numbers for the men's walk are finalized, please urgently make the necessary arrangements for supper costs for the ladies' walk.

Please be at candlelight on Saturday for 7.30pm but not before 7pm when the pilgrims are still wandering about. Do not forget to bring your final agape letters with you.

Closing is at 2.30pm on the Sunday of each weekend.

72hr Prayer Vigil

There are still 14 open prayer slots during the mens walk this weekend, and also a few for the ladies.  Please help us keep the pilgrims and team covered in prayer - go to to sign up!

The main winners of the Karoo lamb and meat - Joan Biggs and Mary Yoell - both chose to donate their prize money, which meant the raffle raised R7500 for the PE Emmaus Community. Thank you to both women for the example of their generosity.

Praise and worship

There was excellent praise and worship and great fellowship on 5 August as the first of these informal get-togethers was hosted at St John’s Methodist Church in Walmer. We hope to host similar sessions next year to give musos and others the opportunity to reconnect.

Post-walk gathering

The post-walk gathering to welcome the pilgrims of Flights 69 and 70 into the PE Community will be held at St John’s Anglican Church, Church Road, Walmer, on Saturday 14 October at 11.30am. It will be the usual bring 'n share lunch format.

2018 Walks

Two sets of Walks will be hosted by the Community in 2018. The cost is R950 and the dates are: The early sharing of these dates is to enable you to start planning and saving to serve!

Thank you for your support in making the flights and walks of 2018 happen. Your sponsorship of pilgrims, your agape and other love offerings, as well as your prayers, is what - with God's grace - makes it possible for the Board to stage all Emmaus-related activities.
