Newsflash September

Staying connected

The Lord is forever calling us into a deeper relationship with Him. To help nurture our faith we should meet regularly with other Christians in the workplace, at church, in cell groups, accountability groups and our bi-annual Post Walk Gatherings.

Post Walk Gathering!
You are invited to come to the Post Walk Gathering to welcome the pilgrims of Walks 73 and 74 and be inspired by their testimonies.

It is also a time of reconnecting and fellowship with Emmaus friends. The get-together, which also serves as the annual general meeting, will also include a bring ‘n share lunch.

Reminder to bring name tags, worship books, and wear bright colours and previous agape.

Where: St John’s Methodist Church, Havelock Street, Central
Time: 11am to 1.30pm
When: Saturday, 29 September (before the Springboks beat the Aussies!)

Events

A full programme of events is already in the making for 2019, but before we get ahead of ourselves, we’ve one more official gathering to enjoy in the Jeffreys Bay area.

Family gathering - Cape St Francis

Our Gamtoos community (St Francis Bay/JBay/Humansdorp) are hosting a Family Walk in Cape St Francis on Saturday 6th October.

We will meet at St Francis United Church in St Francis Bay at 9:00 am to drop off our eats and cooler boxes and then all drive out together to Cape St Francis where we will be escorted by a group who are passionate about our environment. They will guide the walk from Rocky Coast farm, past rock pools and the ocean and share their knowledge as we go along. It will be about 3km and will take approx 2hrs including stops along the way. We will then go to St Francis United for praise and worship, lucky draw prizes and lunch.

Bring your friends and families as we fellowship in true Emmaus spirit.  PE Community let's support them, get your accountability groups together, enjoy a day out with your Emmaus family.  For further information contact Karen du Preez on 079 563 1369.

Equipping and growing

In keeping with the spirit of Emmaus to equip and grow Christians for expanding His kingdom, so the PE Emmaus Community Board mirrors this by ensuring a continuous change of membership. Board members serve for three years at a time, with a staggered change to allow for continuity. From 2019, we say hello and goodbye to the following:

To ensure continuity, each outgoing member serves on the sub-committee of that portfolio. A big thank you to those who volunteered so faithfully to keep the PE Emmaus Community flame burning.

EMSA AGM

Please keep our team in prayer as we head to the national AGM outside Durban in early November. This time next year, our community will be hosting the national gathering and celebrating our 20th birthday at the Willows Resort.
