Of caterpillars, agape, prayer requests, AGM & raffle
To our Emmaus Family far and wide
We start by giving thanks to God for the volunteers who have sent in their forms to work on the combined Chrysalis Flights from 21st to 23rd June.
The only positions still requiring filling are 4 men for the support team and 2 lady muso’s
who are able to play an instrument. (this does not include playing the fool)
Please apply online or download a team volunteer form from https://www.pe-emmaus.co.za/applicationforms.php should you feel lead to volunteer for either of these positions.
Then…, pretty please pray daily for Caterpillars. (ages 16-23 years) Pray that God will reveal a young person who needs to experience the love of God and be equipped to either become a leader or improve their existing leadership skills within their congregations.
We need to invest in our youth as they are the future leaders responsible for growing the Kingdom of God.
The deadline for caterpillar entries will be somewhere around the end of April. Should we not have the required numbers needed to justify a flight by this time, the flights will sadly be in jeopardy of being cancelled.
Please download the Caterpillar form https://www.pe-emmaus.co.za/applicationforms.php for completion and urge you to prayerfully commit, complete and return the same expediently. (only 20 girls and 20 boys will be accepted).
We do realise that the flight coincides with many church Holiday Club dates, so as a parent/grandparent, you will need to discern which is more important at this stage of their lives. We only have Chrysalis flights every second year so the next one will be in 2021.
Then to all of those who have diligently knitted squares for blankets for our 100 AGM delegates – a very big thank you. We will have reached our target well before June which is absolutely amazing. We stand in awe!!!!!
Still on the subject of the EMSA AGM (that PE will be hosting in November (7th-10th) in conjunction with our 20 year celebration of the PE Emmaus Community),
Anyone with contacts for the following items or sponsorship/donations (because hosting an event like this one is hugely costly for delegates coming from all over the world) are to please contact Jacquie Pullen on 082 693 4210
- 80 gram A4 copy paper
- Tissues (100 little pocket packs)
- Rusks for next to their beds
- A pencil and pen for each of the 100 delegates
PS… We will also be hosting a celebration tea at the Willows on the 9th Nov – more info to follow – watch this space……………….
Please continue to communicate prayer requests to firstname.lastname@example.org or Charmaine Potgieter on 084 929 2884 or for online submission click on picture.
We thank all the accountability groups for their ongoing commitment to making agape and pray that the flow of agape will continue as we lead up to the Flights in June as well as the Walks in September. Please contact Felicity Francis on email@example.com should you require completed agape to be collected.
(Please note that with the Girls and Boys Flight being combined over one weekend, less agape will need to be made as we will be limited with numbers - 50 in total per flight instead of the usual 75).
We only have a month or two left to raise funds with our current raffle. As you know, we are hosting the AGM this year and we need funds to make this event a very special one for the national Emmaus Community. (To put Port Elizabeth on the map).
The tickets are only R20 each:
1st prize is a beautiful painting valued conservatively at R6000
2nd prize is a R1 500 gift voucher for Walmer Park Shopping Centre.
There are 10 sheets left, each with 25 tickets, please take a ticket from any board member or better still please consider taking a sheet, encouraging your accountability group, their and your family and friends, to buy a ticket or three?
Be blessed with boldness and perseverance as you continue to shine God’s light in a currently dark and fearful country!!!!!!!
