Be Part of a Team

A team of volunteers from the community runs the Emmaus Walks and Face to Face Encounters. About 35 team members are needed to support the smooth functioning of the Walk/Encounter.

Team members of all levels of experience work in various areas such as Support, Conference room and the Prayer chapel. While the majority of team members are lay people, two or three clergy attend the entire weekend.

Team members are trained over two weekends in preparation for their role in serving on a Walk or Encounter. No role is more important than another, since only a collective team effort ensures the overall smooth running of the weekend programme. The programme is set by the Upper Room which means all communities follow the same minute-by-minute schedule towards conformity of an Emmaus Walk or Face to Face Encounter.

Emmaus Walks
Requirement: you must have completed an Emmaus Walk or Face to Face Encounter or Chrysalis Flight
Face to Face Encounters
Requirement: you must have completed an Emmaus Walk or Face to Face Encounter AND be over the age of 60
